Year-End Giving for 2025

Dear Supporter,

We deeply value your support of Scarlet Road’s mission to offer every survivor of sexual exploitation the hope of freedom. We are writing today to share some timely information that may be helpful as you plan your charitable giving before the end of 2025 and into early 2026.

Current federal tax laws are scheduled to change on January 1, 2026. These changes may affect the tax efficiency of charitable giving—especially for individuals who itemize or who make larger annual or year-end gifts. Because of this, 2025 may be an important window to maximize your charitable deductions and make the greatest impact for the survivors Scarlet Road serves. For supporters who are considering a significant or legacy-level gift, accelerating contributions into 2025 may provide meaningful tax advantages.

You have donation options that allow you to make a difference now and continue supporting Scarlet Road for years to come.

An endowed designated fund provides stable, long-term support for Scarlet Road’s mission. You can make an endowed gift directly to Scarlet Road, or you can establish a fund through Kitsap Community Foundation that distributes to Scarlet Road in perpetuity, please go to: Year-End Giving

If you’re not ready to make a large gift to a single organization right away, another flexible option is a Donor Advised Fund (DAF). A DAF allows you to:

  • Take a charitable deduction in 2025, before potential changes reduce its value
  • Decide later which organizations you’d like to support
  • Use the fund for future gifts such as annual appeals, gala contributions, or capital projects

Local community foundations, including Kitsap Community Foundation, can establish a DAF quickly and at no cost. In some cases, donors can even continue working with their existing financial advisor to manage the investment portion of the fund.

We encourage you to review these opportunities with your financial or tax professional as you consider your year-end and 2026 planning.

Most importantly, thank you. Your generosity is the reason survivors in our community find safety, dignity, and long-term healing. If you have any questions, would like to explore your giving options, or want to discuss how your gift can make the greatest impact, please reach out any time. We would be honored to talk with you.

With deep gratitude,

Rosie Garbe | Executive Director
